MSA Congratulates Employees

Virginia Beach, VA – The following employees were recently appointed to MSA’s Board of Directors:

A 1986 graduate of Virginia Tech, C. Scott Acey, P.E., Director of Engineering, has over 30 years of experience in the civil engineering profession. Prior to joining MSA in 2001, Scott developed over 14 years of civil design experience with an early emphasis on the analysis and design of storm drainage and stormwater management systems, and the development of large-scale residential communities. While serving as the Director of Engineering at MSA, Scott has become an expert in the design and preparation of construction documents for site improvements, domestic water and sanitary sewer facilities, and stormwater permitting related to land development projects in Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Scott is a licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.

Since joining MSA in 1986, Rebecca C. Henry, Director of Operations, has led the company’s marketing program, while also playing a leadership role for special assignments in the areas of operations, human resources, office administration and strategic planning.  In the company’s 43-year history, Becky is the first woman to ever serve on the Board of Directors and the first person to serve on the Board who does not hold a professional license for the type of professional services MSA provides.  This is somewhat rare in the architecture/engineering field and serves as a testament to her leadership capabilities, as well as her dedication and commitment to MSA.

MSA, P.C. is a certified Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Certified Veteran Enterprise (CVE) headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The firm provides environmental consulting, planning, surveying, civil and environmental engineering, and landscape architecture for public and private projects.  More information about MSA, P.C. can be found at www.msaonline.com.

A Message To SAME Hampton Roads Members

Hampton Roads Post Members,

As you may know, CAPT Pat Rios has recently retired from the U.S. Navy. Please join me in thanking him for his service to our country and his service to our Post during his term as President.  Fortunately, he will still be involved in our Post, sans uniform.  Let's all wish him the best as he begins this new, exciting chapter in his life!

As we gear up to transition Post leadership in June, I invite you to participate in elections for the 2016‐2017 Board of Directors (BOD).  Please consider opportunities to get more involved in our Post as a member of the 2016‐2017 BOD or on a committee, whereby you can directly support SAME goals and continue to strengthen and build on the success of our Post.

 Elections close 10 June 2016. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/89F9BKD

The incoming BOD and Committee members will be inducted at our 15 June 2016 meeting.  Additionally, we will award scholarships to highly qualified high school graduates and current college students. Your contributions to our raffle fund throughout the year are greatly appreciated. Come out to see the good they will bring the selected recipients - deserving students and future design and construction professionals!

Sincerely, Nicole C. Foster
Marketing Manager, MSA, P.C.
